Sports includes all forms of competitive physical activity or games which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants, and in some cases, entertainment for spectators.Hundreds of sports exist, from those between single contestants, through to those with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as individuals. In certain sports such as racing, many contestants may compete, simultaneously or consecutively, with one winner; in others, the contest (a match) is between two sides, each attempting to exceed the other. Some sports allow a tie game; others provide tie-breaking methods to ensure one winner and one loser. A number of contests may be arranged in a tournament producing a champion.
Basketball is one of the most played game in sports. Many people enjoys it for leisure, recreational and even in diffferent leauges. Specifically in the municipality of Borbon, the mayor, Hon. Noel Dotillos together with his members, sponsors & staffs organized a “Basketball League” for the coming Fiesta on January 20, 2018.
This league involves all the Barangay in the said municipality. It also encourages all the youth to participate in this game not with the bad habits. Basketball also helps youth not to be get involved in using illegal drugs, alcoholic drinks, cigarettes and many other.
Lately last month of August, the municipality of Borbon held the “Borbolympics 2018-2019”. All the private and public school participated. It involves sports like basketball, volleyball, track n’ field, badminton, arnis, chess, sepak takraw and many other. In every game there is a loser and a winner. In preparation for the coming “Division Sports Meet 2018-2019”, all the winners are being trained and practiced again for bringing the name and pride of the municipality of Borbon.
Looking forward, somewhere in Borbon at Barangay Laaw, the Brgy. Captain, Hon. Letecia Orque with her members organized a volleyball league promoting healthy lifestyle to all the people. Successfully, the league has been done and declares a champion. Only one team excel and gain the victory.
